Artist Dario Campanile, born in Rome in 1948, defies easy classification. Everything in this artist's life has led him to this moment where technique is overpowered by vision, where he sees more deeply and can share more fully his view of reality.
His large oils juxtaposing wild animals with women of surpassing beauty haunt the mind and imagination. His still life's are so rich and vivid that one is tempted to reach
out and touch the peaches, the grapes. More than merely realistic, they transcends realism into a new dimension.
Campanile has had the fortunate experience of meeting two great artists, Georgio De Chirico, the father of metaphysical art and Salvador Dali, the master surrealist. They offered the young painter such valuable encouragement and reassurance that the experience gave Dario a whole new dimension and spawned many new and brilliant ideas in his technical direction and composition.
In 1972, Campanile first visited America. His paintings were so well received that the artist was inspired to leave his native land and settle in California. In 1986. Dario
Campanile was chosen from hundreds of artists to paint the new 75th Anniversary Logo for Paramount Studios.
The master of technical perfection, visualizing and painting what lies in the unexplored regions of most of our imagination with such brilliant colors and textural reality, comes from the determination and dedication of an artist who is fearless in his desire to grow. Everything he experiences portrays itself in the depth and stories appearing on his canvas .
His works are in public and private collections of such celebrities as Valerie Harper, Herbie Hancock, Carl Weathers and Lynn Stalmaster. Among Campanile's European
collectors are Giulio Andreotti, a former Prime Minister of Italy. He has also created a number of commercial works of art which include four albums covers for Lee Ritenour, one for Herbie Hancock, and another for The Little River Band.
Internationally recognized, Campanile has participated in group and one-man shows through out the world in such places as Rome, London, Paris, Switzerland, Japan and the united States. And now in Hong Kong, Dario Campanile has been constantly exhibiting his works of art at the Vincent Lee Fine Arts gallery.
